Larry Amos
LARRY AMOS, tenor,
was born in Coatesville, Pennsylvania and
received a
Bachelor of Music degree from Westminster Choir
College in Princeton, New
Jersey. He studied at the Academy of Vocal Arts
in Philadelphia and did graduate work at Trenton
State College. His private teachers have
included Antonia Lavanne, in New York, Ruthilde
Boesch, in Vienna, and Herald Stark, in San
Antonio. He works now with Sandra Peters.
Mr. Amos performed leading roles in operas and
oratorios in the New
York / Philadelphia area. These included Aida
with the Wilmington Opera and La Cena Delle
Beffe (Giordano) with the Amato Opera in New
York City.
In Vienna, Austria, he was a frequent soloist in
oratorio and masses in the large cathedrals; He
sang with the Austrian National Radio (ORF) and
Wiener Volksoper choruses.
Since coming to San Antonio, Mr. Amos has
appeared as soloist with the San
Antonio Symphony and major choral societies He
is an Advance Funeral
Consultant with Porter Loring Mortuaries and
serves there as staff vocalist. He is soloist
with First Church of Christ Scientist, the
Christ Episcopal
Church choir.
At Congregation Israel Larry is
our tenor soloist.
