Kimi Stephenson
Ms. Stephenson holds a Masters of
Music Education with an additional Certification
in Kodály Pedagogy from Texas State University ,
San Marcos . She graduated as Summa Cum Laude in
August 2006 with a 4.0. (Congratulations, Ms.
Stephenson!) She also holds an Education Degree
with a specialization in Music from U.T.S.A. and
graduated as Valedictorian from the same in
1994. In the summer of 2007, Ms. Stephenson
began her certification process in World Music
Drumming. (How exciting!)
Ms. Stephenson has taught since
1994, in NEISD since 1997, and at Stahl since
2000. In 2004-2005, Ms. Stephenson was voted
Stahl's Teacher of the Year, a fact for which
she is most appreciative and proud. In
2005-2006, Ms. Stephenson was selected for
inclusion in the 10th Edition of
Who's Who Among America 's
Teachers.
This means a great deal to her because there is
no greater reward for a teacher than to be
valued by students.
Ms. Stephenson loves community theatre and
participates in at least two shows a year.
She also performs around
San Antonio with various ensembles. One
such performance was with
Musical Bridges,
a December concert held at the San Fernando
Cathedral. Ms. Stephenson has a husband and a
little girl, both of whom she loves very much.
She also has two fuzzy cats named Mika and Quota.
At Congregation
Israel of San Antonio, Kimi serves as our alto
soloist.
